What type of gemstones do you sell?

Our specialty is in sapphires, but we sell other cut gemstones such as tourmalines, aquamarines, emeralds and others.

Are all your gemstones displayed on your website ?

No, only about 20% of our inventory is displayed on our website. Please email us if you are looking for something that you don’t see on the website.

Do you sell rough stones?

No, we only sell cut stones.

Can you make rings with my gemstone?

No, we do not make finished jewelry. However, we can recommend jewelers we have worked with depending on what you want. Many of our retail clients work with jewelers to make their dream jewelry with the gems purchased from us.

I am a member of the gem and jewelry industry; how do I purchase your gemstones at wholesale prices?

The prices listed on the website are retail prices. However, we cater to many jewelry companies and industry members on a wholesale basis. Please read Wholesale corner for details on how to purchase at wholesale prices.

Can I have a custom gemstone made for me?

It depends on what you want. If we can do it, we would let you know right away. Please read Custom Order for details on how to place a custom order.

Do all your gemstones have certificates?

No, not all our gemstone comes with certificates. Since we are involved in the whole chain from the mines to the market, we confidently stand by EVERY description we provide.

We encourage you to certify and/or appraise the gemstone if you choose to. If it does not match with our claims we would accept returns for a full refund. That said, there are a number of stones on our website that are GIA certified or Lotus Gemology certified.

These are typically stones that are above $5,000, and in some cases we certify stones of less value where we would like to confirm a few “unknowns”.

Do you sell Montana Sapphires?

Yes! We do sell Montana sapphires even though this makes up a small fraction of our inventory. 80% of our sapphires are from mines in Nigeria and Sri Lanka. The other countries we source from are the Madagascar, Ethiopia. Kenya, Tanzania, and Burma.

How am I sure your sapphires and other gemstones are ethically sourced?

Please read our Ethical Sourcing guide and learn about the our company’s social impact in the source communities.

Gemstone treatments

What type of treatments do you do to your stones?

Most of our stones are not treated, however there are a few that we heat that treat, and this is ALWAYS disclosed. We DO NOT sell stones that are treated with beryllium, titanium or any other element. We also DO NOT sell stones that are glass filled. We encourage our clients to have their stones appraised or certified if ever in doubt. We stand by ALL our claims on every single stone we sell. We are happy to send stones you purchase to the Gemological Institute of America Lab if ever you are in doubt for an additional fee of $150. Keep in mind that if you choose to go this route, it typically takes a 3 – 4 weeks turn around time.
